My photography captures surface and depth. With camera in hand, I study facets, textures, colors, patterns, forms, and light. I approach my object photography as well as my eco-scapes, arte urbano/city-scapes, and body-scapes as “assemblages of stories so far.” Through a developed intensity in focus, my photographs mean to invite deeper inspections of the everyday.

Desert Heartwood evolved from my passion for hand-making wooden bowls, pens, and jewelry.  I use local and responsibly sourced mesquite wood for most of my woodturning.  The desert isn't known for its abundance of trees, but the trees that have adapted to thrive in this climate are dense, slow-growing, and, once worked, have complex and beautiful stories to tell in their grain.  I'm thrilled to give these trees a second life as functional and unique items for everyday use in your home.
